Refreshes and how runs are billed

Two kinds of runs

There are two ways your scans run, and only one of them uses your allowance:

• Scheduled monitoring runs automatically on the cadence your plan allows (for example daily on most paid plans). It is included with your plan and never uses a refresh: a daily schedule simply runs once a day, a weekly one once a week.
• Manual runs are the ones you start yourself: Refresh now on your project Home, or Re-run / Run fresh on a single prompt. A manual run that pulls fresh answers uses one refresh.

What a refresh is

A refresh is one manual run that brings back fresh answers. It costs one refresh no matter how many prompts or assistants it covers. To keep it efficient, a refresh only re-asks the prompts that changed since your last scan; prompts that have not changed reuse their recent answer.

Your first scan is free

The very first manual scan on a new account is on us: it does not use a refresh, so you can get your baseline without spending anything. Every manual run after that follows the rules above.

Your monthly allowance

Every plan includes a monthly allowance of refreshes shared across your whole account, so it does not matter which company or project you run in. The allowance resets at the start of each month (UTC). Unused refreshes do not roll over.

What counts

Only a manual run that actually queries the assistants uses a refresh. If a run is served entirely from recent results, it costs nothing. If a run fails or you cancel it, it does not count either, so you are never charged for a run that produced no result.

Running low or out

• The sidebar shows a badge when your refreshes run low.
• Refresh now on your project Home tells you when you are out and points you to buy more or upgrade.
• Scheduled monitoring keeps running even when you are out of refreshes.
• To run manually before the monthly reset, you can buy a top-up refresh pack (see Buying more refreshes) or move to a plan with a larger allowance (see Plans and what each limit means).

Keeping track

The Plans page shows the refreshes you have used this month against your allowance, plus any purchased refreshes. See Usage and the monthly reset.
