FAQ

What is AI visibility?
AI visibility is how often and how accurately an AI answer names your brand when someone asks about your category. That includes assistants like ChatGPT, Claude and Gemini, and the AI Overviews block Google puts above its own results. Those answers rarely send a click, so nothing about them reaches your analytics. LumaRank asks the same questions your buyers ask, measures what comes back, and shows you what to fix.
Which AI engines does LumaRank scan?
Four: OpenAI (ChatGPT), Anthropic (Claude), Google (Gemini) and Google AI Overviews, the AI block above the Google results. AI Overviews is asked with a search term derived from the prompt, because people search shorter than they ask an assistant. You choose which engines a scan uses at the company, project and scan level, and the effective set is the intersection of those choices, so an agency can standardize per client and still tune a single scan. Google AI Overviews is included from the Standard plan up.
How is the visibility score calculated?
The AI Visibility score (0–100) blends four signals: mention rate (how often you appear in unbranded answers), average position (where you rank when models list options), brand understanding (how accurately models describe you, scored by an LLM judge) and authority (whether models treat you as a leading option). We also track sentiment, per-provider breakdowns and competitor comparisons.
What is the difference between AI signals and SEO checks?
AI signals are technical files and markup that help AI crawlers read your site: llms.txt, ai.txt, robots.txt, sitemaps, JSON-LD structured data, OpenGraph tags, RSS, documentation, API docs and a help center. SEO checks are the conventional on-page scan: crawlability, indexability, metadata, headings, content quality, images, internal linking, structured data, semantic HTML, mobile, performance and outbound links. Both feed your scores, and they reinforce each other.
How does LumaRank keep results current?
AI models are trained up to a point in time, so on their own they can miss or misdescribe a brand, especially a newer one. On paid plans, LumaRank measures with the assistants live web search turned on, so results reflect what a real person sees today rather than a stale snapshot. The measurement is the same on every paid plan: tiers differ by how much you track and how often, not by data quality.
How often should I run a scan?
Paid plans monitor automatically on a schedule, daily on most tiers, so your trend stays up to date without any manual work. You can also run a scan on demand after you ship a significant change, like publishing an llms.txt, launching new content or fixing technical SEO issues, so you can see the impact right away. LumaRank tracks your scores over time so you can watch the trend.
How do I upgrade or change my plan?
Go to the pricing page and pick a plan. Paid plans are activated through secure checkout: your plan is only granted by our server after payment is verified, never by the client. Individuals can switch back to the free plan at any time. Enterprise plans are set up through sales. Scheduled monitoring is included with every plan, and each plan also comes with a monthly allowance of refreshes (manual runs that pull fresh answers now) that resets on the 1st. You can buy top-up refreshes if you need more before then.
