Comparing against competitors

Compare against competitors: see where you stand next to the competitors you track, side by side on visibility.

Seeing where you stand

Visibility is relative. The competitor comparison places your results next to the rivals you track, so you can tell whether a score is genuinely strong or just average for your market.

What it shows

  • Your brand and each competitor side by side across the visibility signals, including a head-to-head table on the Competitors view.
  • Where competitors out-appear or out-rank you in assistants' answers.
  • Whether a weakness is specific to you or shared across the field.

When you add a competitor that already showed up in your past scans, its standing appears immediately, so the comparison is complete without waiting for a new scan.

Getting a useful comparison

  • Track the competitors that really matter: the ones buyers weigh you against. Add them, and promote or demote them between rivals and the watchlist, in the project's Competitors view; see Tracking competitors.
  • This comparison covers your rivals. A brand on the watchlist is measured in the AI answers, so you can see its mention rate and trend on its own row, but it is not placed in the head-to-head. Promote it to a rival to bring it in.
  • Comparison prompts sharpen this further (see Prompt categories explained).
  • For mentions beyond the assistants' answers, see Understanding share of voice.
