Choosing which AI providers to use
Choose which AI providers to use: pick them per company, project or scan, where the most restrictive setting wins.
Picking which assistants to use
LumaRank can query several AI assistants, for example ChatGPT, Claude and Gemini. You choose which ones your scans use, and you can set that choice at three levels:
- Company: a default for the whole brand.
- Project: a choice for a specific project.
- Scan: a choice for a single run.
How the levels combine
The levels narrow down, never widen: a scan only uses an assistant that's allowed at every level above it. In other words, the most restrictive choice wins. If a provider is turned off for the company, projects and scans under it can't turn it back on.
Why use levels
- Agencies can standardize providers per client at the company level.
- A single project or scan can focus on a subset without changing the default.
If a provider you wanted is missing from a result, check each level (and see Provider locks for why an option might be unavailable).
The AI Providers view
Open AI Providers under AI Visibility to turn assistants on or off for this project and for the whole company in one place, and to see how each assistant performs for your brand: its mention rate, average position, how steady it is (stability), how often it answered with live web search, and how many sources it pulled up. It is the quickest way to compare assistants side by side and decide where to focus.
