Visibility by AI engine
Visibility by AI engine: why one assistant names you often and another rarely, and what to do about each engine.
Why one engine isn't all of them
Different AI assistants (like ChatGPT, Claude, and Gemini) build their answers from a different mix of sources. So it's normal to be named often by one and rarely by another, and winning on one doesn't guarantee the others name you too.
How to read it
The By engine view shows how often each assistant names you across your prompts. A wide gap, strong on one and nearly invisible on another, points to where your next bit of effort pays off most.
What to do
Each engine rewards a slightly different move:
- Where an assistant leans on brand mentions, get named across roundups, directories, and reviews so it recognizes you as an option in your space.
- Where an assistant leans on search results, focus on classic SEO: rank well for your category terms.
- Where an assistant answers specific sub-questions, make sure you clearly answer the exact questions buyers ask, in quotable form.
You don't have to win every engine at once. Start with the one where the gap, and the opportunity, is largest.
